When We Are Closed
If you need urgent advice or an emergency visit outside normal surgery hours please contact the surgery on 01283 563175. You will be given the appropriate telephone number to call for advice.
Alternatively, you can contact Out of Hours Service by ringing 111
SDUC Out of Hours Service
Out-of-hours cover for emergencies is provided by Staffordshire Doctors Urgent Care . Doctors are usually based at Cross Street Clinic (click here for a map) but you may be asked to attend a different out-of-hours centre. They are available from 6.00 pm until 8.00 am on weekdays and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. Patients are requested to ring the emergency number to make an appointment to be seen the same day. Patients who are too unwell to leave their homes may receive a visit at the discretion of the doctor.
NHS 111
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call NHS 111 (dial 111 free from landlines or mobiles) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and/or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
